Youssef is forty five years old and he studies Persian literature in the university.. When he was eight years old, he has lost his sight due to fire spark. In spite of that, he has studied confidently and with awesome perseverance, he has kept on improving since childhood. Having lived in this world for years now, he does not complain about it at all. However, a sudden disease afflicts him and endangers his peaceful and lovely life. Youssef’s uncle, who is almost a rich man, provides the necessities for him to go abroad and get his disease cured. In Paris, Youssef undergoes eye treatment. During the medical procedure, it becomes known that Youssef’s disease is not dangerous and the cancerous tumor in his eyes is a benign one. After a biopsy , the doctors realize that Youssef’s eyes are responsive to the light; thereby, Youssef, having been blind for thirty seven years, once again is able to see after a corneal transplantation. Gaining his sight back, although being fascinating at first, causes him many problems later, such as falling for a young woman shortly after the treatment. From now on, he is struggling the many temptations, resulting from the attractiveness of his new surrounding world. As the time passes, his behavior is totally changed; he turns slowly to an uncontrollable monster. Meanwhile, his wife, Roya, is trying to preserve her family, in spite of Youssef’s unusual and outrageous treatment.
