Habibeh, a student in archaeology travels to a protected area in Shush, Iran with her teammates for research purposes. Meysam, the head of their research team has been in love with Habibeh and he is waiting for the right moment to tell her father about his feelings. Nasser Shafiei, Habibeh’s father is a well-known veteran of the war and now works as a mining engineer. He intends to own mines of himself but the corporation that he used to work with, prevents him from doing so. Yet he does not give up and pursues his plans. Later, Habibeh steps on an explosive mine in the mountain and gets fiercely injured. Her teammates take her to the hospital. Supposedly, this was the same mountain that Nasser had planted explosive mines in, during the war in order to prevent the progress of the Ba'athist Iraqi forces. Nasser and Raheleh, Habibeh’s parents, visit her in the hospital. Habibeh feels distressed and does not want the doctors to amputate her leg. So Nasser decides to take her to a hospital in Tehran but Raheleh’s heart problems emerge and they can’t travel. The doctors amputate Habibeh’s leg despite her will. All these years, Nasser had been trying to forget about the memories of the war, but the recent incidents remind him of everything. However, he is thankful to God because he still has got his family beside him.
