In a village near Tehran, every year in the month of Muharram, a mourning ceremony is held. The Center for the Performing Arts nominates this play in Avignon Festival because of its special features. The festival judges come to Iran to do the final reviewing. Due to the lack of planning and conflicts between actors, the judges face some problems when they want to make a documentary about the preparations and performance of the play. Serious difficulties arise, especially when the main actor (who plays the role of Imam) disappears and attempts to find a replacement for him fail... In this situation, they find out that unlike theater, to play in this act, expertise isn't everything and the actor needs to have strong faith and sincere belief in religion and the subject of the ceremony.
