Raziyeh, the wife of the deputy governor in a city at Gilan province, escapes Kashf-e hijab (a royal decree by Reza Shah Pahlavi, banning all forms of veils to be worn as Islamic hijab) to a faraway village. Azari, the deputy governor, is left all alone and gradually falls in love with the leader of the freedom movement of women. They decide to get married. In the meantime, World War II gets to Iran, and Gilan province is occupied by the Russian forces. This event changes everything.
