Following the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, an incident leads to the arrest of a physician, named Abol-Ghasem. Along with some of the members of an organization, which opposed to the Shah’s regime, he is exiled and sent to a southern island. There are some notable features in Abol-Ghasem’s behavior and attitude, which cause some tensions among the deportees. In fact, Abol-Ghasem’s presence in that island provides an opportunity for the others to conduct some kind of reassessment on their own personalities.
