More than a hundred years ago when the Qajar dynasty ruled Iran, following a redefining of the Iran-Iraq border, a Kurd-populated village named Dalaman which was once a part of Iran, gets under the rule of Iraq. The inhabitants of the village however, still consider themselves Iranians and do not intend to follow the laws of Iraqi government, so the Iraqi soldiers and officials visit the village in order to have talks and negotiations with the villagers. Following a tiresome debate, Mouhan Barout, the most respected man among the villagers, raises Iranian flag as their final word. The Iraqi soldiers then shoot him and his companions and threaten the others. When the Iran-Iraq war begins, the villagers decide to flee so that they won’t have to engage in a battle with their Iranian fellows. However, one of the villagers named Borzou leaks this news to the Iraqi officials, so during the nighttime they attack the village and take all the men as prisoners. A few of the young guys however, manage to run away. They have someone named Ouyagh as their leader and they declare resistance against the Iraqi army. While the Iraqi soldiers are marching towards the village, Aslan and Javaher, who is a shepherd, detonate a bomb on the bridge through which the soldiers were supposed to pass. Borzou, the spy for Iraqis, manages to deceive Ouyagh into doing some sketchy stuff for Iraq, and later he spreads rumors about how Ouyagh surrenders to Iraqi government because he had received a house and a flock from them. After consulting Khatoun, Mahoun Barout’s wife, the men of the village beat Ouyagh up for his betrayal. Khatoun however later finds out the reality of the situation and helps Ouyagh, whom the enemy considers dead. With Ouyagh’s leadership the villagers win the battle against the Iraqi General and his soldiers and raise Iranian flag high in the sky of Dalaman once again.
