The bandits assault a caravan and rob their treasury. Before attacking the caravan, the head of the bandits has already compromised with Khazaran, the commander of the caravan guards, who agreed to set the conditions for the bandits’ attack, only if the bandits took half of the treasury to Zan-Gazer caravan-serai and leave it there. Despite their agreement, the head of the bandits, who has easily robbed the jewelries and the gold of the caravan, ignores what he has promised to the commander and takes all the robbed jewelries with himself. He hides himself in the temple of the city, while having no idea about what is expecting him. In the temple, the old monk, whose death is close, had predicted that God will send a young monk to serve the temple. Thereby, as the bandit enters into the temple, the monk thinks that he is the same monk sent by god. Coming after the bandit, the commander Khazaran finds the temple, however, the old monk does not allow him to arrest the young bandit. In order to prove his claim and to show that he is the same monk sent by God, the old monk demands him to fast and remain silent till it rains. The bandit does the same. Meanwhile, the monk’s daughter is responsible to take care of him. The bandit falls for the girl since she is very beautiful. The girl has a sister, who is ugly and normally hides her face from the people. And mostly it is the ugly girl who comes to visit the bandit. Through several meetings and talking with her, the bandit undergoes some noticeable changes. Moreover, as a result of his prayers, it rains a lot after years of famine and drought. The townspeople make the commander Khazaran and his entourage, who are still after getting the bandit under arrest, get out of there. Also, they accept the young bandit as the successor of the old monk.
