Monotheists living in one of the Eastern Roman states are suffering from the tyrranies of the Antediluvian, the emperor. In a ceremony held for him, six of his advisers express their opinions and make protests against the Romans' tyranny as well as their idols. Their leader is Maximilian who is Antediluvian's son-in-law and his supreme consultant. These monotheists get arrested, but thanks to a mistake of their guardians, they manage to escape and take refuge in a cave. Antediluvian commands to block the cave's entrance to be a gazing-stock for others. Helen, the wife of Maximilian, made a will to bury her corpse on the slope of the mountain. Three centuries later, the monotheists wake up from a deep sleep which was commanded by God. They are starving and so Maximilian goes to the city to buy food. Everything is changed and when the baker sees the coin Maximilian gives to him, he thinks that they have found a treasure. He arrests Maximilian and their secret is revealed. All these happens when monotheism has become the established religion of the state after three hundred years. The seven sleepers speak to people for a while, but they ask God to return them to himself and he accepts their prayers.
