Kaveh is an Iranian-American who travels to southern Iran with his backpack and a rusty key. He goes village to village seeking a village called Dehdari, where is the birthplace of his late father. Abdolreza on the other hand, is a 30-year-old driver who works on a truck to make a living. During his investigations, Kaveh meets Abdolreza who stops by to take a nap. With his imperfect Persian and American accent, Kaveh tries to hire him as a driver, and offers him a salary in dollars. They begin a three-day trip together and arrive at a small village, This trip has lots of encounters, conflicts and contradictions in demystifying a culture which delves Kaveh more and more into his own past.
