Hadji Enayat is a sixty years old man. Despite his wife’s opposition, he is going to sell his big and old house. One day, Donya, the girl who has recently come back from Europe, comes to Hadji Enayat’s real estate agency. She states that she would buy that old house. Donya is convinced to live in one of the apartments of Hadji Enayat till the owner of the old house agrees to sell the house. Then, Hadji Enayat sends his wife and daughter on a pilgrimage to Syria; thereby, he starts evacuating his old house and moves into an apartment, near Donya. As days pass, the relationship between Donya and Hadji Enayat becomes more intimate. Gradually, Enayat decides to change his appearance according to Donya’s taste in order to get more of her attention. After dying his hair and cutting his beard, Hadji Enayat proposes Donya and marries her. Her condition for that marriage is the old house; Hadji Enayat has to render the possession of his house to Donya. His wife and daughter return from their travel, while having no idea about Hadji Enayat’s remarriage. His wife complains to him for selling the house and not keeping his promise. One night, as Donya and Hadji are alone in the house, Hadji’s children show up. Donya declares that she is Hadji’s official wife. Thereby, Hadji Enayat’s life is broken up; his family abandon him. Meanwhile, Hadji Enayat notices that something suspicious is going on between Donya and one of his friends. After a quarrel, Donya leaves the house. Enayat, while pursuing Donya, goes to the basement of the old house. There, he finds Donya’s album and recognizes that the suspicious man is Donya’s relative. Shortly after that, Donya declares that she is the real owner of the house. Before the Islamic revolution, the house was belonged to her father, then Enayat has bought it. Also, she adds that she had done all that to gain the old house back.
