A young guy travels to Tehran from his hometown Isfahan to forget all the memories of his childhood and teen years. He is in fact the narrator of the movie and narrates the dreams he had. His first dream is about an overnight walk with his dad, Golchin, and some other men alongside the Zayanderud shore. Hamid and Khashayar are his housemates. Khashayar is busy finishing his poetry book and Hamid is getting ready to marry. The narrator intends to write down his constant nightmares and the first memory he recalls is of his father’s. They used to go to the Zayanderud together and bathe there, his mother was worried that he could be seen by others while bathing there and it would damage their reputation, so she asked the dad to stop bathing there. But the father, who was the reputable tailor of the city, kept going there every morning. The narrator recalls dreaming about seeing his elementary school teacher Mr. Golchin during one of his walks but the next day the teacher does not remember seeing him. When the narrator’s dad dies in his tailor shop, he hits the road back to Isfahan to be in his funeral. While in Isfahan, he stays in his aunt’s house, and he feels that his cousin, who was in love with him since the early days of their childhood, behaves as though she is attracted to him. After he returns back to Tehran, he loses his job and despite his dad’s will, he travels back to Isfahan for his dad’s 40th day after death, and while he’s there, he marries his cousin. They travel to Tehran for honey moon and later he turns his dad’s tailor shop into a haberdashery. During one of the narrator’s dreams, he tells his wife that he is going on a trip and won’t return until he finds a proper job. His absence causes them to consider divorce. The narrator gets invited for his dad’s first anniversary, but he sees his dad in his house in Tehran, and one morning he decides to go to bathe but the narrator reminds him that he is in Tehran but his dad leaves heedlessly and in Laleh Zar of Tehran, he recalls his memories of the past and finds himself walking towards the Gavkhouni swamp with the narrator.
